All in the works

I never can stick to one piece at a time, get bored too quickly and I find that being able to gravitate between projects gives a much needed break without losing time and creativity.

Black and white is an update on the progress from previous posts. each connecting strand in this piece has 110 beads at 20 strands each side - wow 2200 beads in each connection, add that to the over 3000 in the body plus all the fringe and I must be nuts. still have to connect up the back - but getting closer.

Gold and black is my own design - top develops into a split V following the same pattern. Undecided on strap finish for this one - may brick a choker style strap or string. Fringe or no???? I do love fringe.

Owl pattern is from silverhill designs http://www.silverhilldesign.com/index.html. Been working this one on and off for almost 6 months.

All designs are copyrighted by their original designer and used with permission

We'll see which finishes first. Please let me know what you think. Thanks

Happy Happy - Merry Merry

I hope everyone had a great holiday season. With a day job in one of the biggest mass market big box retailers - mine has been crazy!!! Hopefully will slow down a bit here, at least for a while. As to Christmas - hubby got his wish - a new stand mixer (he bakes much better than I do) and mom and dad gave me money to go towards a Mirrix loom - or maybe beads - don't know yet. Being flat broke indian, may go towards food - LOL. Pictures to post in a few days hopefully. 3 projects in the works at the moment, all time consuming, large or very detailed. I do love my fringe .... Getting set to start on a beaded portrait of hubby - maybe done in a year LOL.

Remember - life is what is important. Live it like it matters.

Getting there

Update on the piece. Also a photo of my fancy fancy work area. I tend to be very traditional in my methods, part of the way I was taught. My lap is my bead board and a wood bowl my beadholder (at least on simple pieces) Sorry for the glare. Too early in the morning : )

I have really entered the digital age

Wow - I actually have a blog... This is crazy nuts. Good way to keep up on projects and such. Hi to all the etsians out there, Good to be in your number! EBW - thanks for the support and the fun. Let's hope for sales for all.

Photo of the latest work in progress: Base and side pieces done, after about 40 hours or so, I really need to start timing myself. Now the real fun begins - fringe, fringe, fringe ... then connect it all with multiple seed bead strands. I must be nuts. Pattern is from the book SECOND LOOKS by Suzanne Cooper.
